The Chubby Girl Channel....all chub, all the time!
Monday, Feb. 03, 2003, 2:32 P.M.

I am writing this entry in response to my thinking last night about how the media is so weight-biased (except for in men, of course.) I would love to have a chubby-pride channel on TV that would appeal to both the average sized woman and the larger sized woman. Here are a couple shows that would be on the channel:

Blindfold Date: A man who usually dates thin women gets hooked up with a woman who is chubby. However, the man has to wear the blindfold through the whole date so that he cannot just "abandon ship" at first glance...he'd get to know her, then take off the blindfold at the end, after he'd reveal his feelings about her and the date.

Voluptious Vixen's House of Fashion: Find affordable plus-sized HOT clothes in your area, and special makeover specials and guests.

The Lusty Girl: Bedroom topics, such as sex positions for chunky couples, question and answer call session, sexual health topics, and "hot wire" interactive online chat session via the show.

Talk!: Discussion on how the media portrays body image, examples of bad body image representation, and hot topics of today. There would be special guests and speakers, and members of the audience would get involved in the discussion or debate via random polls that can be taken from their seats. A camera on the street also accepts point of views from passers by.

Cooking for Us: A sexy guy who prefers chubby girls would host the show, and he would be co-hosted by various chefs who would show how to prepare "high fat" meals in a low fat way. Tips, recipes, and audience reactions to the meals. Also callers can call in and ask in case they need to know about substitutions of ingredients and such.

Couch Potato: An exercise program that is fun, easy, has great music. Also a demonstration before each exercise begins so that people can mute it and play their own music in the background and they won't get lost in the transition from exercise to exercise. Segments of exercises you can do on the couch, in bed, at work, and healthy snack options.

Fat for a Day: A person calls into the show, saying that they know someone who is ignorant to people who are fat, and they want them to be taught a lesson. They go get the person who is disrespectful, and put him/her in a fat suit for a day and take them to wherever they normally go on a day to day basis. After-show commentary and monthly update shows, as well as e-mail updates from past guests.

That's all I have for now, but I wish I could just buy a TV station and fund all of this, because I think it would be a wonderful part of TV history, and open the doors for people who have a dream of being on TV but are too shy about auditioning for parts usually reserved for a slimmer person. This is my dream, I was thinking about it last night at work and I really want to make this happen, it would be wonderful. Perhaps someday we all can get together and make this station a reality.

Ahhhh the mind of a chubby girl at work.
